Trivoli Tavern

LOCATION: 114 N Green St, Chicago, IL 60607

AMBIENCE: Trivoli Tavern is a “New American” restaurant located in Chicago’s West Loop. With its emphasis on dark wooden features and warm red accents, the ambience of Trivoli Tavern is distinctive and inviting. The addition of plants and carefully framed paintings enhances the sophistication of the space, creating a warm and luxurious atmosphere. The lighting is intentionally subdued, creating a sense of intimacy without compromising visibility. This thoughtful approach to lighting enhances the overall experience, ensuring every detail is perceptible yet contributes to a charming, slightly mysterious setting.

MENU OFFERINGS: The cocktail menu at Trivoli features house cocktails, sake, and frozen drinks. My personal favorites are the Airmail and the Espresso Martini. The Airmail is a refreshing blend of Appleton Estate rum, prosecco, and honey, while the Espresso Martini strikes a perfect balance of Mr. Black Espresso Liqueur, cold brew, and vodka. For those who prefer not to drink alcohol, Spirit-Free drinks are also available. Trivoli’s menu is diverse, offering everything from fresh shellfish and seafood to handmade pasta and steaks. A standout feature is the selection of sushi rolls, offering something unique compared to the rest of the menu. Menu highlights are the French Onion Soup, Steak Frites, and Salted Caramel Ice Cream (the salted caramel ice cream pairs perfectly with the espresso martini).

OVERALL EXPERIENCE: Trivoli Tavern is the perfect spot for a night out with friends or a delicious meal. With an extensive food and cocktail menu, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Additionally, Trivoli Tavern is one of the many restaurants participating in Chicago’s Restaurant Week, which typically takes place during the last week of January. During this event, Trivoli Tavern offers a special three-course dinner, featuring an appetizer, entrée with a side, and, of course, dessert. The menu showcases some of the restaurant's most popular dishes. My personal favorites are the French Onion Soup, Steak Frites, and the salted caramel ice cream.
